Michel Nicolas is CEO of Folimage, a world-renowned animation studio based in a historic ammunitions factory in France.

Michel joined the animation industry in 2000, and along with the founder of Folimage Studio, Jacques-Rémy Girerd, helped launch the animation film production complex La Cartoucherie Pôle Image Sud Rhône-Alpes, which has become a reference centre for animated films in France. It combines production, training, casting, broadcasting as well as film education in order to foster meaningful quality individual artistic initiatives. Michel was the general manager of La Cartoucherie before joining Folimage Studio in 2013.

Today, Michel is involved in every Folimage production and project for TV and cinema. Folimage's latest feature film, "Phantom Boy", is directed by Jean-Loup Felicioli and Alain Gagnol, who also directed Academy Award nominated film "A Cat in Paris".

Michel personally produces some projects and is currently working on "Miru Miru", an original animated television series and  "Ariol", an animated series adapted from a best-selling children’s book. He also supervises experimental developments for new medias, such as "The 4th Planet", a transmedia project which includes an animated series and indie game.
